Sonny (9 Y.O | M)
A few months ago, we took big, beautiful Sonny into care. Sonny had been surrendered to the pound after council told his owners they had too many dogs; naturally, they gave up the oldest. This boy was on borrowed time, so we worked quickly to get him out as soon as we could.
Sonny was in pretty bad shape at the time, and we took him directly to the Vet; he was found to have been suffering from chronic flea dermatitis, and infections in both ears. The next stop was for a medicated bath to soothe his skin, which he absolutely loved! He went straight into foster care and has since been lovingly restored back to health, and is now ready to find his forever home.
At 9 years young, Sonny is a relaxed, friendly gentleman, who is still quite active. He enjoys playing fetch, with squeaky toys, and loves going in the car. His favourite pastimes also include pats, belly rubs, hanging out with his people, and eating!
Sonny walks well on the lead, and although he can woof when he sees an unknown dog, he is fairly easy to distract, and settles once the dog is gone. He knows his basic commands, and is confident and friendly with people of all sizes. Sonny would be happy in a home as an only dog however could probably live with another relaxed canine friend if introduced properly. Sonny is untested with cats.
Sonny is a lovely senior Shepherd and will be wonderful addition to any family but it’s important that they know …. belly rubs are a must! If you think you can offer this handsome gentleman a new life, please fill out an adoption application online via our website, or email email@example.com if you are already on our waiting list.
