Holly (3 Y.O | F)
A HOME FOR HOLLY
Taken to the RSPCA as a stray by a member of the public, she arrived with no name, no home, and having been given no care. An immediate Veterinary assessment found the infected wound on her leg had significant nerve and tendon damage, and an amputation would be needed. We received a call asking if we would take this no-named girl, soon to be minus one front leg, and of course we said yes!
Introducing our newest GSRV recruit, 3 year old Holly!
Holly’s leg was amputated just under a week ago and she is recovering and adapting as only a German Shepherd can – brilliantly! All the vet nurses love her and Holly just loves a cuddle!
We aren’t sure of her family history but one thing we do know is that she is reactive to other dogs. Given the fact that she is recovering from surgery, and learning to get around in her new circumstances, we will be finding Holly a home with no other pets.
Holly has been a complete love-bug to all the grown-ups who have handled her in the clinic. On Saturday, she had her first encounter with children; whilst it was only from a distance, Holly became extremely stressed and uncertain, barking and backing away from them. This is a significant time of change for poor Holly, and we want to make this period as low stress as possible, so we will be searching for a forever home without children.
It’s a bit of a tough rehome so we will need your help getting her story out there. Holly deserves her second chance so badly, and we’re certain that together we will get her out of the clinic at RSPCA Victoria, and into a wonderful forever family. If you think Holly would fit perfectly into your family, please complete an Adoption Application form online via our website, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested and already on our waiting list.
