Dewey ( 12 M.O | M)

I’m sure that many of you are already acquainted with 12 month old Dewey (aka our little ‘Houdini’), after seeing him on our page several times following self-authorised and unsupervised walks! Poor Dewey is a complicated young man, so he is looking for a loving and very understanding family to teach him how to trust. He came to GSRV via our friends at Animal Aid.

Dewey will need a home where he can be kept contained at ALL TIMES. He will need high (6foot+) dig-proof fences, and to sleep in inside with his family so he does not take himself out for any further self-guided walking tours! Right now, Dewey is a little unsure of inside and feels more comfortable sleeping outside in his very secure pen, but we would love him to learn the joy of being inside with his family. Dewey has been great with kids in foster care and has been great with his foster carers dog-savvy cats!

Dewey has recently met some new dog friends, and while he was a bit unsure at first, he relaxed fairly quickly, and began learning how to interact with the others whilst playing. Dewey will benefit from a family with a calm, active, well socialised, large breed female to play with. Her guidance will help him more confidently navigate the world. GSRV strongly recommends that Dewey attends training on a regular basis, for which we can provide recommendations.

Dewey gets a bit stressed during car rides, and he gets a bit of a sore tummy … maybe that’s why he likes to walk places?! Dewey is a goofy, lovable and kind soul who is waiting to find his perfect forever so he can learn about all the amazing things life has to offer. Are you the Huey or Louie to this Dewey?
